Food Review: 5 Dogs // Bundaberg Ginger Beer

The picture that you're looking is what you think it is. Yes, those are the dogs before they all become my meal.
*Haha kidding*
*okay not funny*

*must have selfies*

So last week, my housemate (William) and I took the bus to Fortitude Valley to get some groceries at the Asian shops there. After that, we wanted to grab our lunch there but it seems that the Asian restaurant's there are relatively pricey. Instead, we walked around and saw a shop at the corner of the street that caught our eye.

I've had hotdogs once back in Melbourne's Victoria Market, I really really like it and I may go back to have that again! Since William hasn't tried Australian hotdog yet, so we thought we give it a try.

Here are the menus.

We ordered the $5 lunch, which are the Traditional Hot Dog and the Chicken'n Gravy Roll.

The Chicken'n Gravy Roll that William tried, he commented it looks delicious on the appearance, but the taste was just okay, didn't satisfy his tummy and it wasn't enough portion for him as well.

For me, I personally love Sauerkraut. The traditional hot dog was just okay for me too, not really into the taste. The sausage doesn't have enough taste. The combination of the sausage, sauce, toppers including the bread was seperated in their own flavours which make the hotdog wasn't an all combination tasty. Maybe I myself had high requirements for meat especially. hee

Overall, I think it's just okay, normal taste. For me, I think trying once is enough for 5 Dogs.
I guess Victoria Market's hotdog had set a benchmark for my taste perception on Australia's hotdog. Sadly, 5 Dogs can't compete and not even close to it. I would recommend that it's a good deal for a lunch set but not for very delicious food.

This was the Melbourne's Victoria Market I mentioned about. I miss this place! Especially the food ! *stomach grumbling*

The Bratwurst Shop & Co. at Victora Market

The sausage does taste like it looks! De-li-cious!!

The crust of their bread, perfect juicy sausage and amazing Sauerkraut! I was in cloud 9!

Oh, we also tried the ginger beer. When my dad came to Aus, he drank this almost everyday during the winter. It is really good, I personally love this! Can't get this in Malaysia. Malaysia's ginger beer are mostly in cans and it's carbonated, however, Bundaberg Ginger Beer is just perfectly nice with a heavy meal.

So these are only part of the Fortitude Valley street views

It end up that William didn't get any food after the meal because he got distracted and forgot he wasn't full enough. Haha. So, that's our trip. :)
